I Wish

 

I wish I was better,

That I didn’t break so easily.

I wish I was stronger,

That no was my answer.

I wish I was faster,

That I ran without relent.

I wish I was stable,

That people didn’t move me.

I wish I was real,

That I didn’t wear this façade.

I wish I could trust,

That I would be at peace in not knowing.

I wish I was empty,

That the mirror wouldn’t control me.

I wish I would love,

That it would keep me hungry.

I wish I was right,

That I could stand holy.

 

But a wish is just a wish,

Nothing more and that only.
